The CyanoTRACKER project led by Dr. Deepak Mishra is developing cyber-infrastructure for citizen participation to track harmful algae before they can take over an entire body of water.  It is the first early reporting system of its kind.

In an historic first for UGA, On October 2, the SPOC Satellite built by students and faculty in the Small Satellite Research Laboratory was launched aboard an Antares rocket headed for the International Space Station. On November 5, SPOC was deployed from the ISS, and began transmitting data within hours of launch.
