Our Mission - The Georgia Community Geography Collective (GC2) supports scholarship in the UGA Geography Department that builds mutually-accountable, long-lasting partnerships with community groups in Georgia. GC2 makes community-engaged scholarship accessible for students, and fosters conditions for meaningful collaborations between students, faculty, and community members. Our goal is to leverage university resources, along with multiple forms of expertise and experience, to build more just and sustainable futures. The collective is made up of distinct, but sometimes overlapping, projects. We support projects that contribute to a more equitable community, help students develop geographic competencies, and generate educational opportunities for all participants.
